Give MAME32 a try, or use a frontend like MAME Classic.

Hi... i'm able to get a few roms but i do not know which emulator is the best to load them. And I find mame quite hard confusing. Is there a better solution? If not, what are the steps? Thanks..

You need the games, yes. On your local hard disk...

You try to run a game whose file is not complete. The game is not green in romcenter.

A green game in the database section does not mean that the game zip is also green. It simply mean that all roms have been found. Now, they can have bad name, they can be on different places....
Go to the path where your file is and fix it. It must be green to run the game.
