Use the 'Mame' datfile, not the supplement files from the zip. That should fix it. (i hope)

i know you can change the datafile in the romcenter pprogram but it's still no good, must i get the dat files for all the previous versions of mame before this will work? is there not a dat file that has all the games and rom files listed to date?

MAME DAT FILE HELP

by thesteve » Thu Apr 29, 2004 11:59 pm

hi... I have the latest mame dat files (.81) and I have around 4500 roms with the correct path pointing to them in romcenter....

but, only a handful of my games are showing up as correct files and the rest are showing up as unknown (both sets are zip files)

i've refreshed numerous times, restarted the program, unloaded and reloaded the dat files, created my own dat file, etc but the results are still the same

anyone have any ideas on how i can get romcenter to recognise the games (the version of mame i'm using is .79)

thanks (great program by the way, if i can get it to work!)
steve
