Do you extract the dat from original mame 0.245 ?
Yes. Actually I provide the mame.exe (from the official binary 0.245) when I create a new DataBase (button "Select source datafile")

Does it happens every times ?
Yes.

Note : I noticed the same problem with binary 0.244
