Most of the Arcade dats are hosted at Logiqx's.
He recently made some changes to the site and may have inadvertantly changed the security settings for the datfiles. I'm sure this is just temporary.

There are very few Arcade games in the Public Domain.

It would appear I've found a bug in RC.
I was testing the new SMS/GG plugin and disabled the "fix file extension" under preferences.
Now any file name with a (x.x).xx is being cut short.
Examples:

Although I probably should have mentioned this before, I was having problems with RomRenter corrupting some of my MAME roms when trying to rename them.
Since no one was mentioning this as a problem I thought it was insulated to my system.
With the beta 6 release I am no longer having this problem ...

Need a little more information:
What datafiles are you using?
Are they up to date?
ect.

The problem is'nt with RomCenter, Its with the datafile itself.
Contact the maintainer of the datafile.

For those who do not know what the Config.xml in RomCenter is:
Basically it contains the internet links to game information sites ( Ceasar ) and datafile web updates.
These are used when ever you click the little globe looking icon at the top of RomCenter, or download datafiles via the Datafile ...

RC requiries alot more tweaks and fixes and new features in terms of rom auditing before we start adding fancy screenshots etc.

now type cmd.

Now move to the directory that rombuild is in by typing: cd "rombuild directory"

Actually Yori creates all the NonGood and some arcade related dats. I've created the majority of Goodxxx dats by scanning my verified collection with logiqx datutil and in some cases uCON64.

This is an older program I use. It's pretty self explanatory.

Go into your RomCenter directory and look in the folder entitled Archive. Your roms should be there.
As with anything it is always a good idea to read directions first. This program is well documented.

I debated about making all my datafiles with headerless roms but in the end used the GoodRoms Heaven sets since they are the most widely available at this point in time. Only the sets that include plugins use CRCs calculated without header info.

When games where dumped from the cartridge to the FFE they where modified in some way. Sorry I don't know exactly what changes the device made.

These are the version numbers stamped on top of the actual chips in the NES cart. (PRG 1 CHR 0)

NES Software consists of a PRG-ROM (Program ROM) which is the code area and a CHR-RAM (Character RAM) which is the pattern table.

RAR and ACE are types of compression. You will need to first "unrar" or "unace" the files and then zip them.
