Re: Noob romset question: are we able to ask...
Well it's been about 24 hrs. now, can I assume from the lack of an answer from members or Mods, that we CAN ask such questions, about which romsets, clones, parents etc work with which emulators?? Hello and welcome here. Yes, you can ask such questions. If you couldn't, your posts would not be appr...

Re: Work in progress
About upgrading a db (because a new rc version comes with a new db version), rc actually does it when opening the db. There is no specific action to do that and you have no choice but updating. I think that a messagebox is shown in case of a db upgrade, though i can't remember if it's just an infor...

Re: Work in progress
Syntax for commands are open. It will more or less be what you propose. That would be nice, i was wondering though what would happen if a user wants to perform multiple options on a DB. That way, my app would execute RC multiple times for the same database with different options, each time re-loadi...

Re: Work in progress
Great news Eric. Thanks for the update. :super: I have created a tool which loads a TOSEC structure in a tree and gives the user the ability to select one branch (computer system) and perform some action on it. When RC41 is released, i will add support for database updating from a dat file via comma...

Re: -> Participate in Romcenter version 4 design!
If yes, I can provide in the next version a command line interface. This is one point in my todo list. This behaviour is already used for the tests. Hey Eric, If you do provide that command line option, it would be nice if RC did not ask whether to upgrade the database from an older RC version (it ...

Re: -> Participate in Romcenter version 4 design!
I'm not sure to understand the goal. Do you mean updating romcenter databases with datafiles new versions ? without opening all databases ? The goal is indeed to automate the database update process for entire systems. For instance, the TOSEC Amstrad CPC system consists of several dats, which means...

Re: -> Participate in Romcenter version 4 design!
Hey Eric. In this thread, there was an earlier discussion about how to handle entire systems (i.e a C64 set of roms - which is composed out of several different dats). Given that this is a one-man-show and your devoted time to RC is limited and also there is much work to be done, such a feature may ...

Re: How do I rename a ROM entry?
If I scan a folder with, say, .dll files it does list the dll's in it. But doesn't add the .iso files in the same directory. If any file types are allowed, why don't the .iso's show up? Maybe it doesn't like files over 800mb-2gb? RC is made to primarily handle compressed files (zip, 7z...). It can ...

Re: How do I rename a ROM entry?
How do I create a datafile to import? Dont I need a SHA or CRC fore each file? This should give you a way to do it manually (sorry, i don't know of any tools). It will generate a datafile which you can use as a template to create your own. In order to do that, you should enter in the .dat (or .xml)...

Re: How do I rename a ROM entry?
You could add custom dat entries in the datafile then. After that, you could re-create an RC database including them.

Hi.
It will automatically rename it to the name that exists in the datafile for this file.

Re: Is this folder part of Romcenter?
Hi there. Firebird is the database for the dats, right? Yup. I checked and have this folder too. I renamed it, executed RC and opened an existing DB. The folder was recreated. As far as i can understand, it's a temporary folder used by Firebird's database engine when an application that uses Firebir...

Re: Error: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException'
Well, "Out Of Memory" should be clear enough. Maybe the computer actually does not have enough memory to support what you're trying to do. Two questions would be: do the two computers have the same amount of memory and are you trying to scan the same datafile with the same rom folders? If you wish t...

Well, when you can either click on a rompath to fix all roms in that path, or click on a specific rom inside the rompath to fix that rom only. Choose wisely and proceed with caution.

Re: Device roms merged into game roms
Hi and welcome here. under settings I've set both rom and bios merge mode to split. Is there a way to do that? Yes there is. What you've already done! :? Well, maybe i'm missing something. Try creating a new data file and verify that rom and bios are indeed in split mode, then add the rom paths and ...

Re: fix *only* principal rompath destination, secondary add paths
Create a new DB from the datafile and add a new roms folder in which copy only the files you wish to check/fix. In any case, have a backup of your roms somewhere, just in case something goes wrong. RomCenter has protection though (when it deletes files, it can be configured to move them to the Recyc...

Nope. .rdt is a binary database file, so no manual editing is possible.

Hi there. Eric will have to take a look at it and tell what's going on. I'm working on refactoring the romcenter source code to prepare migration to .net core. Branch 4.1 will then be updated to a modern windows framework and be compiled in 64b. Hi Eric, From what i've understood from blogs and articles out there (not from first-hand experience though), Core 3.0 is sti...
