Re: Romcenter + Wine
Hi and welcome. Interesting question. Eric will have to clarify whether this will work under Wine, because RC4 has been developed using WPF, a part of .NET that AFAIK has not been implemented in Mono. I'm not sure how Wine implements the .NET framework libraries (if it uses the original Microsoft li...

Re: Cant find the Error in these 2 Datfiles
From a quick look, i too couldn't find any problem. It seems to be a well-formed xml at least, so Eric will have to say. The error produced by RC though, puzzled me. I know it's not always easy to achieve but it would be nice if it didn't only show the procedure in which the error occurred but also ...

Re: Unexpected error: value cannot be null. Parameter name: entry
Hmm....not much support here :( Hi. You'll just have to be a little patient. This (development-wise) is a one-man-show and sometimes there may be periods were real-life makes it difficult to be as involved as you wish with some things. I'm sure Eric will take a look at this, it just may take a whil...

Re: Bad roms names bug
That thread is very old and it's for a much older version of RC (probably RC2). RC's design and way it works has changed much over the years, so there's no point in looking in posts that are so old for help in recent versions.

Hi. It would be helpful to upload the log file (you can find it in "C:\ProgramData\romcenter") so that Eric can take a look at it and explain what has happened. If you don't want to upload the whole log, just isolate the part that contains the error and post it here.

Well, in that case, Eric will have to take a look at it and let you know what's going on. Just give him some time.SolemnSpirit wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2018 9:29 amHi Wanderer,

Have you used the same datafile?

Hi there.

There seems to be either an error in the datafile or something that RC does not support. Post it here, it would help Eric find out what's causing this message.
Well, it might be, but we probably won't find out until you post the data file.

Re: Hyperspin XML Files
Hello. I'm not sure how many different datafile formats exist out there but an interesting idea would be for RC to expose some kind of plugin-API. That way, community could create plugin-DLLs to add support for New database creation / update for new datafile formats (provided that the original dataf...

Or are there different version of the same CHD , but with different CRC numbers ? Hi there. Yes, that's probably what it is. The source datafile you have used (either exported from MAME or from an internet source) contains the names and CRCs of the files supported by a specific MAME version. The CH...

Hi there. Indeed, it would be interesting if romcenter could use an external database to keep its data. Hi there. RC3 development has stopped for quite some time now. RC4 is in Release Candidate state. It's still strongly suggested to keep a backup of your roms before fixing anything with it, but it seems that there are no major glitches so it should be relatively safe. I would suggest you try playing...

Re: FB Alpha v0.2.97.42
But now it shows some red roms. The same roms were green in RC3.7. If RC4 does that, there's probably a good reason (well, if there's no bug involved). If a rom is shown red in the Database branch, something is missing from it. Either a file is missing from inside the game, or it exists but the che...

Hi and welcome to the forum. I can't speak for RC 3.71 but i know that it is not maintained for quite some time now, so some things may have changed and not supported by RC 3.x any more. I'd suggest to try out RC4. Just have in mind that it's still a beta version. It should be safe but just in case,...

Hi! I have the same issue. Menu File/open data folder isn't helping. How to fix it? Be sure that the temp folder is writable. See above to open this folder from romcenter. Hi there and welcome here.
RC4 is in beta stage and as you can see here, there is an already reported issue with no-intro dats. You can open a new bug in the bugtracker if you feel there's something wrong with RC4.

OK, there seems to be one or more problems here but i'm not sure exactly what is going on, so i'm discussing it here. We'll see later on if a bug report can be produced. There seems to be a problem with the settings and perhaps the way they are loaded / upgraded from one release to another. When i d...

OK, i currently have some free time and also the will to play with RC a little. Nice. Thanks for the updates. A minor thing (done on purpose perhaps?). When RC10 started, the first thing that popped up was a message: Romcenter update available.
