XML data files for RomCenter 3
I have started re-uploading my datafiles in the new Generic XML format (supported by CMPro and RomCenter 3):
http://forum.logiqx.com/viewtopic.php?t=426
They are available from http://www.logiqx.com so please give them a try in RomCenter 3 and let me know how you get on.

The MAME SuperSet is a datafile which contains ROMs other than just MAME (e.g. Nebula, Kawaks, etc). You have downloaded the supplement which is to be used in addition to a MAME set. The supplement doesn't contain any MAME ROMs (hence only 172 games in your case). It sounds like you have completely ...

p.s. The import problem will almost certainly be that you have the wrong version of DatUtil active: http://www.romcenter.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1772&highlight=117u2 Other users will confirm that it fixed the issue and my data files were generated using it too. There is no difference between RomCe...

You might find that today's release of DatUtil fixes the problem. MAME now describes resources differently (0.117u1 and 0.117u2) so an update was required for DatUtil to understand the new XML. Maybe this resulted in a data file that RomCenter couldn't handle properly (causing it to crash). Try the ...

I wasn't doing datafiles back at the time of MAME 0.34 (which was released 8 years ago). I would suggest that you download it onto a PC from http://www.mame.net/oldmame.html and see if it has the "listinfo" option. If it does then you should be able convert it to RomCenter format using DatUtil. Logiqx

I am guessing that it is from pocketheaven.com because a quick Google search showed them at the top as supplying a PSP datafile. I've had a look at it and their data file is in 2.00 format so I am guessing that the lack of filesize is something to do with the transition from 1.92 to 2.00 many years ...

Re: one more report for romcenter 2.71
It's bad practice to be missing sizes in the data file anyway.abalone wrote:If a data file has no "SIZE" field, romcenter 2.72 will treat all these roms as "RED", even they have correct crc32.

Re: Few more features request
New rc3 format will be mame xml. Can I ask a couple of questions about the format please? 1) Will it be pure MAME XML or will there be some RomCenter specifics in it also? 2) I assume that there will be support for existing RomCenter data files too (i.e. backwards compatibility)? If I need to enhan...

LET'S STOP ALL THIS SPAM!
Hi Eric, I don't know if you have seen my PM or e-mails. If you give me admin rights and access via FTP, I will make the necessary changes so that spam does not appear on this board. I've done it for 3 other boards so I am confident that I can upgrade this one without any effort or trouble. ;) Logiqx

There are two other significant possibilities: D) main set + multiple clone (treat like A) E) multiple clones w/o main set (the most complicated scenario) Anyway, I think that there are two important points here: 1) It is non-trivial to implement. It may seem simple when talking about single clones ...

OK, suppose a game has 5 clones. To which clone the main game's files will be added? Select one of them arbitrarily? to that particular clone which requires these. if more than one does, pick one of those arbitrarily (to avoid duplicates, thats the whole point). That wouldn't actually work because ...

To save me time in replying, look at how they are grouped on my page: http://www.logiqx.com/Dats/ That will tell you whether they are for specific emulators or just arcade systems that are supported by multiple emulators. Forget about the supplements since you are too new to this to be able to use t...

No, you've missed my point. DatUtil is what makes supporting non-listinfo/listxml emulators possible so it can't be removed unless Eric decides to write RomCenter 3 to support all of the formats that DatUtil provides (like Nebula/Nebula Jukebox drivers, M1 XML, etc). That would be quite a waste of E...

Usage of DatUtil in RomCenter v3.0
Eric, Moving on from the original idea of updating DatUtil from within RomCenter, I have created a sample XML file for you to ponder over: http://www.logiqx.com/Tools/DatUtil/Compatibility.xml As you suggested earlier, a new version number in the XML will indicate that RomCenter needs the new DatUti...
