There is actually no zip library replacement planned for rc in its actual state, but I'm more and more interested in moving to vs c#, and I will have to switch to a new zip library (don't know which one, if someone have advices).

Can you try with the kawak or the logiqx cps2/neogeo datafile ?

It is a bug in rc3. It is fixed in the alpha 2 version (to be released soon).

mame dat are extracted from the mame.exe. All you need is the mame binaries.

You must open a datafile before adding paths.
Read the start guide in the rc documentation.

This alpha version is locked in split mode. Maybe your other romcenter version is in a different mode ?

No, you can't. Emulator is not enabled in this first version.
You can just load datafiles and fix roms.

Which datafile are you using ?

Use a datafile from logiqx web site or create a datafile from mame.exe

Actually, updating an existing db is not available. So, for a new release, you have to build a new db. Of course, the final version will allow to update an existing db. - Install mame or get a datafile and UNZIP it
- run romcenter 3
- click the menu 'new...' and follow the wizard
- wait till it finished (this is still long, count at least 15 min for mame)
- backup your roms
- Add rom path and you're ready.

I will install this evening the devel. tools on my xp pc to trace the date problem.

I still have two problems to solve before the release.
1 - A date convertion problem on my xp system (it works on win2000)...
2 - an escape char conversion from xml dat. Logiqx, do you have some infos on the method used for encoding specials characters in xml ?

Build a datafile for the new mame version
Copy your roms updates in one of your rom paths and do a 'fix' with romcenter.
It will use new updated roms to fix all other files.

If I stay with Delphi, I could move to delphi 2006 or 2007 and adapt rc to be able to compile a linux version with kylix.

Until then, wine seems the best solution.

AFAIK, winelib is only for C/C++, not for Pascal Object.
