It would be a considerable save in disk space, if the databases were zipped after creation (perhaps use a ".rdc" extension, for "Compressed rdt"). When the user opens a DB, it could be uncompressed in datas (or another user-defined folder in params), used by RC and when it is closed (or when RC main window is closed), it could recompress and delete the uncompressed DBs. All this could be configurable though ("enable database compression" in config).
