some (repeatable) crashes of beta2

Hi. I use RC beta 2 for some time and I basically didn't have any bigger trouble with it. But just recently when I tried to load MESS dat (which I couldn't generate btw - I had to download it from somewhere) ..RC crashes with some Access Violation message in French (i.e. message is still generated by RC - not by my Windows which is English).
Any ideas?

This probably comes from a bad datafile, same as winkawaks...

With newer versions of DatUtil (v2.4 upwards) you can import MESS datafiles yourself:

Datafile Manager->MAME Import...->select your mess.exe

N.b. make sure that messlib.dll is in the same directory as mess.exe.

RomCenter 2.70 beta 4 includes DatUtil v2.11 and imports MESS without a problem, I've just tried.

It just did not work in beta2 - yes – beta 4 works ok (when it comes to MESS BIOSes).
Just one important side note: wouldn’t the transition to .ini file be easier (for users) if RC could still read and transfer the settings from registry?
