Post by RomCenter »

Hi all
Here are some work in progress news:
7zip support is finished. 'Device' roms are imported and more accurate merging are available between roms.

7zip archive files are fully supported: rename, creation, deletion and inter-archive roms exchange (zip <-> 7z).

You can select your preferred archive file format. It will be used to create new files.

The release will happen very soon.

this are real good news

btw, will be possible to use specific compression type for a specific DB roms ?

for example a option to configure 7zip for Mame DB roms only, and Zip for others DB roms (or some other combinations).

Yes, preferred archive format is saved in the db, so you can use zip for one datafile, and 7z for another.

It is something I would like to add (with other tools as well), but probably not in v3.
