Hi all
Some new on what's going on with romcenter 4.
I work on it almost every day, and things are going well.
3 weeks ago, I did some tests with mame 0.154 and a load of roms folder (130 folders, one of them with 3000+ files). It was very slow.
So I started to redesign the database to make it work with current version of mame and its huge number of roms.
New structure is finished, and I have to adapt main program to work with it. For now, creating db, updating db, loading and displaying roms, adding and removing folders are working. I still have to adapt fix operations.
A beta version is still planned as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Wip

Hi,
I just want to thank you for all your hard work. People are impatient and will always complain about everything, but I want to write this post to show you my deep appreciation and gratitude for all the time you spent working on RomCenter.
I wish you all the best.

Hi Eric.
Your effort is appreciated very much. I hope a beta is released soon. I'm curious how RC has evolved...

Re: Wip
Can you make some tests with this files?
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=A99DD85F ... 92C165B!64
the "Commodore - 64 (merged 20141104210328).dat" is a big problem in 3.7.1
I hope in 4.0 it will work better

Re: Wip
RomCenter: Something you can´t miss in this version, possible to have more then one database in same file, lets say you load one datafile into the RomCenter and then will load another one, why not have to option ether merge them on the fly or have two different ones?
I found this very good when you try to collect everything from different merges
You can also load one by one but its not so simple

Nope. You probably mean...Slaktarn wrote:possible to have more then one database in same file
Yes. This will be supported according to this thread (posts 4 and 5).Slaktarn wrote:lets say you load one datafile into the RomCenter and then will load another one, why not have to option ether merge them on the fly

Re: Wip
It would be nice to have the option to ether marge them in RomCenter or have them separated
I have like 3 sets for N64 for an example, this don´t means i would like to marge all 3 sets but nice to check all in once without have in marged
like
-- Database1
-- Database2
-- Database3
