Hi,
I have some more NES rom questions:

Whats the meaning of "mapper number" and "mapper name" ?

What does it mean when there is no mapper name and number ?

Whats "vertical" and "horizontal mirroring" on nes roms ?
thx Ferze

You may want to read a bit on FC/NES hardware first.
This page may answer your question. A mapper name (board name) is just a different way to refer to the same thing (a mapper) and is usually used only when talking about UNIF.

That you cannot run the game :-) It has to be clear (to an emulator) what memory mapping controller the game uses. Some games don't use (need) bank switching (page flipping/whatever you name it), but an emulator still has to be informed about that fact. IIRC mapper number 0 is reserved for that.

The page I referred to above
answers that question too.
