Tell me please, how can I switch RC to other language?!
I copied the locale dir and its contains to the RC dir.
When I started RC nothing happened.

The path structure for resources files is:

C:\Program Files\Romcenter\locale\FR\LC_MESSAGES\default.mo

The 'FR' folder is for french language. RomCenter will automatically use the resource in your language code folder.

Of course your language file must be available.

The ZH is actually ZH-TW. Characters and expression are very different from ZH-CN.

I'm a bit lost with these tw and cn things.

What are the Standards ISO 639 language codes ?
ZH is for Chinese
What is the code for zh-tw ? ZH_TW ? and ZN_CN ?
Or is it ZH for both ?

Well, ISO 639 only contains ZH for Chinese, but in fact there are at least two main kinds of Chinese, Simplified and Traditional. Simplified Chinese (SC) is used in mainland China while Traditional Chinese (TC) is employed in Taiwan, Hong-Kong, Macao and Singapore. There are GB2312 code and BIG5 code for SC and TC respectively, and Unicode for both of them.

In addition to providing the identification of language names, ISO 639-1 can also be combined with ISO 3166, Codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions, to help indicate the area (country or subdivision of a country) in which a term, phrase or language is used. For example, the use of the term "elevator" used in the United States may be otherwise noted as "elevator (US)" and "lift (GB)" to indicate the use of the term "lift" in Great Britain. So Microsoft defines ZH-CN and ZH-TW for different Chinese non-Unicode in order to display Chinese websites, documents and applications correctly. M$ also defines ZH-MO, ZH-HK and ZH-SG for Macao, Hong-Kong and Singapore, but they seem to be as same as ZH-TW, which mean BIG5 code in fact. There is another ZH in IE’s option (only in IE, I didn't find a pure ZH in Windows code page setting, maybe I missed?). I try and find that it is the same with ZH-CN for GB2312 code. I am using a SC Windows, so I don’t know whether or not the ZH will mean BIG5 code in a TC Windows. (CN, TW, MO, etc. are codes in ISO 3166)

The RomCenter’s .po file for language “ZH” seems to be in Unicode, so it will not be displayed as #%&#^*%#@*% in my SC Windows like BIG5 coded programs. However, the characters, phrases and sentences are in the usage and habit of TC, this is why I said it a “ZH-TW” language file.

There are other abbreviations for these two kinds of Chinese too. SC/CHS for simplified and TC/CHT for traditional Chinese, etc.

So, the ZH mo file should go into
C:\Program Files\Romcenter\locale\ZH_TW\LC_MESSAGES\default.mo.

Can someone confirm if it works on a TW windows ?

I think it works, for I change ZH to ZH_CN and find that romcenter is still able to load it in my SC Windows.

BTW, a Simplified Chinese language file was already released by dwt_so about 10 hours ago. It has only one file named romcenter.chs (chs means Simplified Chinese, I'm sure) and the way to use it is to put this file in the romcenter's root directory.
