nes11b.dll needed or not?

Hi there

I just downloaded the newest Romcenter just to see that he fails to load the GoodNES 1.01 for Rc 2.5.dat 'cause he thinks nes11b.dll isn't a CRC-DLL from RomCenter.

Since the nes.dll (13kB) doesn't recognizes all ROMs here and in comparison to the nes11b.dll (140kB) it's much smaller I wonder if there's an error or not. I guess the bigger file would recognize more of the Roms

You shouldn't use such an old DAT file anyway.

No error there. What files does nes.dll not recognise? But first make sure that you are using a recent DAT file.

I guess the bigger file would recognize more of the Roms

nes11b.dll does almost no analysis. nes.dll does a lot more, but you can't deduce that from the file size (you can look at the source code though ;-).

I didn't find any others for the NES. Maybe you'll enlighten me about new paths to find some?
