Access violation

Hi,

I just switched to the latest RomCenter build and I've got a strange behaviour.

Environment:
  • RomCenter 3.40 07/07/09
    MAME SuperSet v0.134

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
    Version: 6.1.7100 Build 7100
    System Type: x64-based PC
Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 8,00 GB

Fix options: All except "Unpack and repack"
What I made:
  • 1/ Right click on the Rom folder in the left panel: "Fix all games"
2/ Romcenter starts to generate a lot of error messages in the logs:
    308 - Remove comment on zookeep2.zip
4308 - Access violation at address 00402069 in module 'romcenter.exe'. Write of address 00140317
3/ Process ends with the following pop-up: "Access violation at address 0040475E in module 'romcenter.exe'. Read of address 00140317."
4/ RomCenter hangs, using about 114 Megs of RAM. Task manager must be used to kill the process.
When I try to fix all games, RomCenter always hangs. The latest log message is "Access violation at address 00402069 in module 'romcenter.exe'. Write of address 00140317". Addresses are always the same.

Thank you in advance for any help,

~asx

Problem solved:

1/ Delete all files in C:\Users\asphyx\AppData\Roaming\romcenter\Datas
2/ Run RomCenter as administrator
3/ Create a new profile using MAME SuperSet v0.134.dat
4/ Set up your paths
5/ "Fix all games" : it works.

Sounds like RomCenter need administrator credentials to work. UAC sucks.
