OK, this is driving me crazy! I know its possible, but how?

I am trying to delete all CHD-based games from my MAME roms. under the DataFile listing, I can select "Games with CHDs" which effectively selects all entries on the right. however, you can't delete these 'entries', because they are simply references to the database... What I want to do is select the corresponding ROMS and delete them. How is it done? operations on the Database and the ROMS are not linked, or are they?

As far as i know, no. This may be an interesting wish for RC4 though...

OK, I give up. Anyone know of a tool that will allow me to select all specific ROMS and delete (for example, CHD based ROMs...?)

Well, perhaps you could try creating (perhaps mame.exe itself provides the necessary switches for it) or finding a datafile that does not contain CHDs and after loading it and adding the rom path, go to it and delete all grey files.
