Hi,

I've just started testing 4 b3 but it throws the error below just after start loading files and aftre pressing ok it stops the operation and files list remains empty.
I've tested in to different machines - same result

HW/SW running
- W 8.1 x64 - W7 x64
- mame64 164 or 165
- intel T7700 / i5
- 4GB / 8GB

All roms are in 7z format - clrmame e mame do not complain about any of the files and they all pass tests.

Since the error is about compression range (0-5) i'm guessing that must have something to do with 7z optimizations for ultra compression but unfortunantley rc4b3 doesn't report the file (or files?) in wich it gives error so i'm unable to performe a deeper analisys and with 30k+ files is not very easy to guess...

Please tell me if more information is needed

I've faced this issue too. You have probably changed the compression level in RC's settings. Just change it back to 5 (under Files / Options / Archives format - put both sliders in the middle of the range) and it should be OK. It seems it's a bug in RC.
