RomCenter: Development Status and Future Plans

Hi all,

As you may know, I paused RomCenter development for a while to focus on developing an RPG in Unity.

That said, I’m still keeping an eye on RomCenter, and from time to time I make progress on the 64-bit rewrite of the datafile plugins (which is likely related to the Genesis missing DLL issue).

One of the main challenges with the plugins is that their original authors are no longer involved in maintaining them. Some are also written in C++, which isn’t my primary area of expertise. As a result, I need to rewrite all of them for 64-bit support.

I do plan to return to RomCenter development and release the final 64-bit version once all plugins are ready.

So stay tuned for 2026—and in the meantime, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

Good to hear, I was afraid it was dead, RomCenter is the best ROM manager by far.
