I am having trouble getting my head around the database statistics and how it is breaked down.
I am currently attempting to get the MAME SuperSet v0.140 complete. I am using a combination of RomCenter and Romulus (
http://romulus.net63.net/). Each has certain strengths and weaknesses so I am using them together to get the best of both. However, the numbers don't add up consistently.
According to Romulus, the set consists of 9048 sets and 84492 roms. It doesn't break down mains, clones, bios, disks and samples. According to RomCenter, the set contains 9053 sets and 72981 roms.
RomCenter also breaks it down:
Number of sets: 9053
4520 mains sets (49.93%)
4480 clones (49.49%)
53 bios files (0.59%)
449 disks files (4.96%)
236 samples files (2.61%)
Number of roms: 72981
71603 programs roms (98.11%)
197 bios roms (0.27%)
399 disks roms (0.55%)
793 samples roms (1.09%)
How is the numbers 9053 and 72981 calculated? I have tried various combinations, including and excluding bios files, disk files, sample files etc but can't get the totals to add up properly. Then there is also the discrepancy between Romulus and RomCenter.
Can anybody help? Thanks.
