What do I do with the red ROMs now?

Post by erikfed »

Ok, so I've fixed my rompath. now I have either green or red roms on the left side. Is there a was to delete all the red roms so they are no longer listed in my mame frontend? I'm looking for a mass delete function since I have several thousand. I tried searching on here but had no luck. Thanks in advance.

Hi there.

In RC3, there are two branches in the tree at the left part of the window: the Datafile one and the Rom files one.

You cannot delete roms from the datafile part. These are all the roms the datafile supports. The red ones mean that you either have a game zip file in your roms path that has serious issues, or that you simply do not have the respective game zip file.

Now, from any path in the rom files branch, you can click on the path in the tree and disable all file filters except the red ones ("show/hide not working files" tooltip) so that you see only the red files in that rom path at the right part of the window. Then select all files in the list at the right part of the window, rightclick on one and select "Shell operations \ Delete files" from the context menu. All red files will be deleted.
