Hi,
I ocasionally get the above message while checking some snes roms. It doesn't bother me because the rom gets the green flag anyway, but I'd like to know its meaning.
Thanks
File was not detected as SNES ROM dump - Ok

What can I say? The file wasn't detected as a SNES ROM dump, but the plug-in calculated the right CRC32 value nevertheless, hence the Ok. The SNES plug-in produces the first part of the message, RomCenter produces the Ok.
The most likely cause is that the files you get this comment for don't have a correct backup unit header.

I suggest uCON64 (http://ucon64.sourcforge.net), of course. Perhaps you'll find NSRT (http://nsrt.edgeemu.com) easier to use. That will probably change once I finish the first version of my uCON64 frontend.
You can remove a header with the option -stp. Please note that -stp removes the first 512 bytes, regardless whether a header is present or not. BTW giving your SNES ROMs a correct header is perhaps a better idea.
Don't forget to make a backup of your current set before modifying it.

By using one of the SNES conversion options (See "ucon64 -snes -help|more"). I suggest to use -swc. The SWC format is an uninterleaved format and the header contains a "magic" number so that a file in that format can be easily identified as a SNES ROM dump.Guest wrote:How can I change the header to a correct one?
