newbie. need help

I new to this thing and i want to know why it keeps saying error, couldn't find this game. it says to put a zip in files menu rom path, is it the configuration path because if it is i have tried it but still the same. plz help

When you post problems can you please tell us certain things:-

1. What version of RomCenter are you using. Of course you should be using the LATEST version at all times (currently 2.70 BETA 5)

2. What Operating System are you using? Win 95, 98, ME, Win2K, WinNT4, XP?

3. What DAT are you using that your having problems with? MAME, WinKawaks, Nebula etc etc

sorry for not replying. i'm not sure what beta i use but i have the winkawaks version and i'm using XP, by the way how can you know what beta you're using?

If you asking the question your not using the latest version obviously. To find out simply run RomCenter and it will tell you either by looking at the top active panel or simply clicking on HELP and select ABOUT.

Also make sure you have the latest version of DATUTIL (version 2.15 currently) installed too. Otherwise that also may cause problems.

as i told you i'm new here so forgive me for any errors but i did forget about the version, its winkawaks 1.54 and the DATUTIL is 2.00
so do you know what my problem is?

Thats far too old.

You need to download Datutil 2.15 found here: http://www.logiqx.com/Tools/DatUtil/dutil215.zip

Overwrite your version with the above.

Also, which version of Romcenter are you using? Once you have the lastest version (RC 2.70 BETA 5) and the latest version of Datutil then try again and see if it fixes your issues.

Then come back with whats happening.

We can't offer help on older versions which may contain errors or bugs that may have been fixed in later editions.

That just wastes peoples time.

i have downloaded datutil 2.15, does it automatically overwrite itself or do i have to do it myself? Also wherecan i download the RC 2.70 BETA 5 version? thx

No you need to manually overwrite it. If you have installed RC correctly you will find it here: C:\Program Files\Romcenter

Again you will have to manually overwrite it with the new version by opening up the zip file and extrating it to here: C:\Program Files\Romcenter
