I keep getting the message UNSUPPORTED FILE TYPE when I select the option to play the game in my GBA list. I have the rom (have tried them zipped and unzipped), set up the emulator path so it launchs and even tried adjusting the parameters in the file>preferences>romsets>parameters section. Its a popular emulator so Im sure Im not the only one with this problem.
Besides that, really enjoying using this neat program with my nointro dats, reliable and easy to use, shame theres no support at present for displaying images (boxart, screensnaps etc) perhaps in the future, especially for GBA.

Have you tried using %3 instead of %1, that might solve your problem (Sorry if that sounds obvious).
First thing I'd try is putting %3 in quotations (i.e. "%3"), if that didn't work I would try moving the ROM in question to a very simple location e.g. C:\ROMS\GAME.GBA, with no spaces.
That's personally what I'd do, but I'm not really an expert on command-line syntax.
