I'm using an English WinXP version but those two dialogs contain French elements (title and buttons).
In addition, i fixed a rompath and in the log file i saw several lines looking like this:
Code: Select all
<number> - Remove comment on <romset>.zip
These are zip comments, placed inside the zip structure right? No actual files were removed, correct?
Another one: After loading a database, i went in preferences and selected "Corrupted files: Move To". I pasted a path in the "move to" textbox and then i clicked on "...". The result was the following:

- RC350_03.png (8.55 KiB) Viewed 24967 times
Apart from the error, i should mention that the text of the error message is also in French. Can all these messages be adjusted to show English if running in an English version of Windows?
EDIT: I also got a GPF when closing RC but unfortunately i have no more info on that.

aside from the "oui" issue, I'm having also another "language" rare issue
I was adding a folder that contained 114 files, romcenter takes some time and then just comes up with a "butchered" list (around 50 files), when I hit "refresh" an error message comes up saying (example)"file D:\blabla\blabla's bla.zip not found"
if I delete the apostrophe in the name (ending now as "blablas bla.zip") and hit refresh, romcenter shows up the same error but with the next rom having an apostrophe in the name (let's name it "bleble's ble.zip")
so...getting back to 3.41 for now and waiting for a fix, can't manage the dats with the current names...
3.50 is working faster now, I really like it...
OS:win xp
language: english

sorry for double post, but guests don't have an edit button
closing and opening RC3.50 again shows the full list minus the roms using the apostrophe on the name, hitting refresh just makes the past stated error message come up again

posting again, maybe this could help, unicode and other options on my OS is setup to spanish (due to my job) and so romcenter shows up in that language, maybe the language issue comes from this? (maybe people using 100% english system don't get any of this issues?), this needs some testing

Hi mike. You are welcome to register to the forum and use all the benefits a registered user has (editing posts, getting reply notifications, etc.). But if you don't want to, you're still welcome.
As for your problem, Eric knows better but i'm betting it has nothing to do with language. It's a known problem when using SQL databases and has to do with the fact that the apostrophe has a special meaning in SQL and needs special handling. I believe there will be a quick fix as soon as Eric sees your message.

Hi
Thank you for reporting these bugs.
I'm currently uploading version 3.51
About crash on exit, I noticed it on xp, never on seven. I tried to reproduce it, and it seems linked to the 'remove comments' operation. I don't know yet the problem, but it won't hurt anything on the roms files.

I
am using XP too and i had done a fix operation that had 'remove comments' in it just before i saw the crash. I hope you find it at some point, even if it's not that serious.
